]]> A pocket calculator is a useful tool for people who need to process computations regularly. While some of the people are financial experts, accountants, engineers, chemists, physicists and mathematicians, a pocket calculator is also useful even for the ordinary housewife who needs to do frequent budget computations at home and at the supermarket.

When shopping for a pocket calculator, there are certain things that a person need to consider. Firstly, you need to determine what functions you will require to be in the calculator. If you just need something to help you with adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing large numbers, then a basic calculator will work for you. But if you need to compute for square root or angle values, then you need a scientific calculator.

Scientific calculators are about double the size of a basic calculator. Although they are larger, they can still be considered as pocket calculators, because they are usually just a little bit larger than the palm of your hand.

The Hewlett Packard calculator range is as wide as the grand canyon and they are sure to have just the machine you require regardless of your profession. The calculators are extremely portable and fit into most briefcases or portable computer carry cases. I have found that they are reliable to the tee. I have come to realize that their battery life is also by far more superior to your regular calculators available today. They may cost a little more but you get what you pay for in the long run.

]]> In my profession as in internal stock controller I am required to add up all of the stock requests for each of the products that have been requested and pulled from stock from me during the course of the day.

This task used to at times confuse me when I used to use a standard desktop calculator as I often found that I would lose my place in the constant stream of numbers that needed to be reconciled every day. It was suggested to me by a friend that I invest in a printing calculator as this way I would be able to simply check which was the last number that I had entered into the printing calculator and quickly find out where it was that i had left off.

I must admit that since I started using my very own Printing Calculator I have been leaving the office on time every day.

That is probably the reason why it would be an effective tool to get your kid to learn arithmetic and carry out some other mathematical operations. Also, Hello Kitty calculators are handy and easy to understand. The numbers are big so it won't be difficult for someone to read them. This may also be the reason why a lot of kids love to possess a Hello Kitty calculator. They don't find it stressful to use. Priced at $149.95, and later dropped to $119.95, the TI-2500 became a cost effective option to the slide ruler for students and engineers. In 1976 the SR-60 became the first Texas Instruments calculator to offer user programmable functions. The first Texas Instruments calculator to offer scientific notation functionality, the SR-56, was also introduced in 1976.

In 1990 the Texas Instruments calculator with graphing technology was introduced and immediately redefined the role of the calculator in the educational and business communities. Still even today the Texas Instruments calculator is the standard by which all other calculators measure their success in the marketplace.

I have personally owned some form of desktop calculator since I was thirteen years old. I have used my desktop calculator for many a task and at a time when I was much younger I used it as a form of entertainment too. The mundane task of adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing numbers to or from each other has never been easier with the use of a calculator.

My desktop calculator has really big buttons as I find that when I am wanting to make use of it quickly and accurately I need to be sure that I have punched the correct number first time every time.

]]> The financial calculator is a special device used to calculate loans and mortgages. It is basically a simple device specifically built for the calculation of different financial matters such as loan rates, interest rates, mortgage rates and so on.
There are 3 basic types of financial calculators such as:
1. The loan calculators. This type of calculator is used to make the users understand the amount of a loan which needs to be payed along with its interest rate. There are 3 types of information used in this calculator:
-The estimated repayment time;
-The actual loan amount;
-The estimated interest rate.
2. The mortgage calculator. There are 2 major types: the fixed rate and the adjustable rate mortgages.
The fixed rate calculator requires the following information:
-The interest rate;
-The amount to be borrowed;
-The loan term.
While the adjustable rate mortgage calculator:
-The interest rate;
-The amount to be borrowed;
-The loan term;
-The initial length of time before loan adjusts;
-The estimated rate after each adjustment;
-The interval value, after loan adjusts initially.
3. The credit calculator. It is a good tool to determine the rates that go along with a certain credit card.
The information required for this calculator is:
-The current balance;
-The annual interest rate.

However, this gave rise to opposition against its use for the fear that basic mathematical abilities of the children would deteriorate.
